6th CAPITAL Course

9 & 10 November 2026, Academiegebouw (Zaal teldersauditorium)

Welcome

Dear Pituitary Specialist,

We are pleased to invite you to the 6th CAPITAL Multidisciplinary Workshop, which will take place in Leiden, The Netherlands. This two-day meeting aims to facilitate the exchange of best practices in the multidisciplinary care of patients with pituitary disorders.

CAPITAL is designed as an interactive platform where clinicians and researchers can discuss clinical challenges, share protocols, and explore emerging strategies in pituitary management. Participants are encouraged to attend together with members of their multidisciplinary team, enabling reflection on new insights and their potential implications for local practice.

As in previous editions, the faculty will focus on practical approaches in areas of clinical uncertainty, presenting case-based experiences relevant for endocrinologists, neurosurgeons, radiologists, and specialized nurses. Participants are invited to bring their own cases for discussion. Opportunities for exchange will be provided through plenary discussions, Q&A sessions, and informal interactions with faculty members.

Since the initiation of CAPITAL, the Leiden Pituitary Center has further developed several innovations in pituitary care, including multidisciplinary decision-making clinics, early postoperative discharge supported by telemonitoring, prospective data collection for quality evaluation, functional imaging in complex cases, and coordination of a national study on prolactinoma treatment.

At the same time, important challenges remain, particularly regarding shared decision-making for elective indications and the implementation of structured data registries.

We look forward to welcoming you in Leiden.
